Oxidized Bitumen
Oxidized bitumen, also known as blown bitumen, is widely used in industrial and construction applications where enhanced hardness and thermal stability are required. RIC Trading Group supplies oxidized bitumen suitable for roof insulation, waterproofing membranes, tank and pipe coating, and industrial sealing applications.
Key characteristics of oxidized bitumen include:
- Lower temperature sensitivity compared to penetration grade bitumen
- Higher softening point and reduced penetration
- Improved resistance to deformation under heat
Common grades include 85/25 and 85/40, with softening points around 85°C, as well as grades with higher softening points for specialized industrial use. A high positive Penetration Index (PI) indicates excellent performance under varying temperature conditions.
Penetration Grade Bitumen
Penetration grade bitumen is primarily used in road construction, asphalt paving, and infrastructure projects. It is classified based on penetration value, which determines the softness and suitability of the bitumen for different climate conditions.
Lower penetration grades are typically used in hot climates, while higher penetration grades are preferred in colder regions. Our penetration grade bitumen meets industry standards and provides consistent performance for road and paving applications.
